June 12th, 2009We are aware of a wide spread DSL and VoIP outage affecting many customers. This appears to be an issue in London. Technicians are addressing the issue now with the highest priority.
Maintenance Window: Router Reboot
May 8th, 2009
Friday 15th May 2009, 01.00hrs to 06.00hrs
During the maintenance window above, the IOS on one of our suppliers core routers in Telehouse East with will be upgraded to resolve some configuration issues. This software upgrade will require a reboot of the router which should take less than 30 minutes to complete, during which all directly connected customers will be out of service. Any traffic that would normally be routed through this equipment will route via alternate paths. We do not anticipate that this will affect any customer connections to our services.
Maintenance Window - 2Mb Leased Lines
May 8th, 2009
15th May 2009 - 00.00hrs to 06.00hrs
During the above window our suppliers will be performing router upgrades within Global Switch that will require all 2Mbps Framstream circuits supplied via this location to be out of service for a small period. It is anticipated that any downtime will be restricted to 60 minutes or less within this window. We will be calling all affected customers individually to advise and naturally we apologise for any inconvenience that this work will cause.
DSL Network Upgrade
April 29th, 2009We have received the roll out plan and diagrams for our carrier’s network upgrade to ensure that the new 21C network for ADSL Broadband and leased lines is completely redundant following the outages from earlier in the year. The outages experienced by users in the north east, east midlands and some parts of the west midlands on ADSL circuits were due to third party fibre cuts. At the time some POPs (points of presence) were not connected via a diverse route so there was disruption to service when the connection failed. By July 09 all points on the network will be linked by 2 or more connections providing resilience in the event of a connection failure.
VoIP Issues
April 21st, 2009Our VoIP carrier is currently having issues with VoIP servers hosted in Interxion. This is affecting incoming calls. Technicians are working to restore the service.
Swap out of Backup Cisco router
April 16th, 2009This evening, between 1730 and 1830 we will be replacing our Cisco router that terminates a redundant link from the data centre to a connectivity partner. We anticipate no interuption to service but our primary circuit will not be redundant during this window. The exchange of routers should only take 10 minutes, even though we have a 1 hour window for the work.
Edinburgh and Newcastle DSL Outage
March 18th, 2009Our providers have confirmed an outage affecting the Edinburgh and Newcastle areas. There is currently no ETR. We will update this once we know more.
Bonded Circuit Outage
March 6th, 2009It appears all bonded circuits are currently down due to a RADIUS issue. Our provider is aware of this and it has been escallated to the highest level. There is currently no ETR. As soon as we have an update we will post it here.
Support Desk Phone System Outage
March 3rd, 2009We are aware of a problem this morning wth our support desk number between the hours of 0600 and 0815. This was an issue with our internal PBX systems. The exact cause is currently unknown but we are working to implement a monitoring system that will alert in the event of a call routing issue rather than just IP connectivity that we have in place at the moment. IP connectivity to the system was not affected hence we were not alerted to the fault automatically.
The support desk phone service returned to normal at 0815.
In addition to improved monitoring systems we will be issuing an alternative number within the next month going to a different system in the event that we ave any future issues with our primary number.
