Incoming call issue

June 23rd, 2010

At 12:20 we were made aware of a potential problem with our phone system. Upon investigation it seems that calls are taking an inordinate amount of time to connect (circa 15 seconds). We are currently investigating the issue with our upstream provider.

McAfee Dat 5958 False Positive

April 21st, 2010

At around 1730 this evening we began receiving calls from end-users that suggested a widespread viral infection. After several hours of investigation it became apparent that the root cause was an incorrect release from McAfee resulting in Windows XP machines becoming unstable and incapable of logging in.

An emergency update has been release by McAfee for Virus Scan Enterprise customer’s; “dat 5959″. Customers are advised to urgently force a manual update of their client machines; this can be done by right-clicking the McAfee shield in the system tray (next to the time) and clicking “Update Now”.

Mail delays on Level 1 Anti-Spam Relays

April 16th, 2010

We are actively working with our Anti-Spam provider with regards to mail delivery times.  At present mail is taking approximately up to one hour to reach the end recipient and as such is being treated as high priority by ourselves.

Amendments to End-User Spam Release (EUSR)

April 13th, 2010

For customers subscribing to our Level 1 anti-spam service, please be advised that we have enabled a new feature; auto-whitelisting.

This means that an end-user receiving an EUSR email with potential “false positives” now has the ability to whitelist a sender by following the link to release the mail. Therefore future messages from the whitelisted address will not be subject to the usual SPAM scanning and thus not listed in the EUSR mail.

Generator Power Plant Service 10th Feb 2010

February 5th, 2010

The generator systems are being serviced on the above date.  There should be no risk at all and the power supplies to the computer rooms will still be redundant during the service.

Emergency Maintenance

February 1st, 2010

This reload will actually be between 0300 and 0400 on the 2nd Feb, not as previously posted.

The router directly connected to the far end one of our circuits is going to be reloaded by our supplier in the next few minutes to clear an issue.  We do no anticipate any loss of connectivity as traffic will take alternative paths but there may be a few seconds of instability whilst routes update.

Unscheduled Maintenance

January 30th, 2010

We have had to reboot a VM host which has resulted in us taking some services offline.  These include Hosted Exchange and some outbound mail relaying.  Apologies for the inconvenience.    We expect normal service to resume shortly.
